This is a Yellow Ware Brush McCoy Dandy Line White Banded Butter Tub or Crock produced during the beginning of the 20thC in the 1920s. It is in poor condition but is the larger size, and measures 5 1/2" tall and 7 1/4" diameter to the base.

There is discoloration in color to the glaze crazing in the interior and exterior. There are two old chips to the outside of the base exterior edge the size of a small finger tip, two chips to the narrow glaze band, and three 2 1/2" hairlines from the rim (not quite cracks but do go through).

The original but lighter in color lid has a large chip and another large chip that has been glued back in along the rim. Often these lids did not survive because the handle does not make for a very good grip. There is also a chip to the lid interior rim, so the lid has significant damage.

The Dandy Line white banded yellow ware is quite desirable and display well in a collection.
