This is a Yellow Ware Yelloware Small Old Nappie Bowl measuring 53/4" diameter and 2" tall, and dates to the late 19thC or early 20thC. This wonderful size nappie is rather hard to find size particularly if you are working on making a nesting set of nappies. It bears the number 169 to the base and possibly indicates that this nappie may have been produced by the Brush McCoy Pottery in the Midwest. Many of the Brush McCoy Dandy Line pieces bear similar numbers in the same progression.

It has nice strong yellow color (please note that the camera flash was bouncing off the white background), and has a flat bottom with canted sides. There are two glaze hairlines at 11:00 and 1:00 to the interior rim only and do not show to the exterior, and has nice crazing to the glaze. No chips and is in very nice condition. This nappie is one size up from the smallest 4 1/2" nappies and is a very desirable size.
