This is a 19thC New England One Finger Pantry Box Signed "Patd LL Smith" on the bottom. It measures 7" diameter and 3" tall. There is a single finger in medium weight stock. The box may have been painted at one time?? and refinished and varnished a long time ago. It now has a nice smooth old worn surface.

The interior is clean. The lid has a couple of extremely tight age splits and an old repaired broken piece that was put back in place along the edge. The lid and base lap fingers are fastened with very early irregularly shaped nails and the rest is wooden shoe pegs.

This box is a nice size as well and would work nicely into any stack of pantry boxes.
