This is a C1840-60 Antique New England Pantry Box in Oxidized Blue Milk Paint now appearing a very very dark Windsor green. A portion of the non oxidized blue paint can be seen on the paint that was protected under the lid.

This is a most wonderful hard to find color with an all original milk painted surface. The milk paint is old, authentic and original to the box. It measures 6 1/2" diameter and 2 7/8" high. This box has early square nail construction, and is an early box. There is an old age split to the base bottom retaining some of the blue milk painted surface in a teal color.

It has a clean interior, and has nice iron oxidation around the nails. This very early box has a wonderful dry feel to the blue milk painted surface. The untouched original surface is dull and dry with great patina.The color is great!
