This is an Antique New England C1860 Folky Knife Box in Dry Putty Tan Paint. The color of the milk paint is hard to define and difficult to describe as it is a neutral with first original dark Windsor Green milk paint under the present color paint as seen on the bottom which did not get painted. The color is authentic, dry and dull and it may have also had a pale green or possibly a white color under the putty/tan color.

The construction consists of old irregularly shaped oxidized nails, and the box has all the appropriate paint wear and feel to the dull dry surface. The handle is great! with the folky primitive cut outs. Some thought was put into the form and design of this box.

The box is a very nice size as well measuring 12 1/2" wide, 9 1/2" deep, 3 3/4" tall at the sides, and about 6 1/2" tall at the handle.
