This is an Old C1950 (or prior)Oilcloth Stuffed Handmade Folky Black Cat made as a child's toy. The cat is stuffed with cotton, and the oilcloth is now flaking off with some areas already having some black oilcloth outer layer loss. There is one old right angle tear to the front near the face and some staining to the back.

The cat once had two light blue eyes (now one worn away) and some sort of light blue mouth now not easily seen. What is most notable is the hand stitched (blanket stitch) edging binding the two sides together. It is a great folky piece and may have been made by a child or young girl. What a nice project! The cat is large measuring 17" tall, head 7" wide and 15" wide at the tail.
