This is a 19thC New England Pantry Box in original Mustard Milk Paint measuring 5 3/8" diameter and 2 1/4" high. This box is GREAT! And in a very small size for the top pf your pantry box stack.

The color is a bit difficult to label and describe, and appears to be in the mustard milk paint family. The original milk paint was applied thickly and has all those brush strokes that I like to see in early milk paint. The lid has darkened from oxidation, dust etc. from age as it should. The original paint is a very dull sheen.

The interior is clean with strong thickish construction for a box this size. Near one of the wooden pegs on the lid, the top surface has a small section that lifts up due to age and shrinkage to the wood. The construction is wood peg and penny nail construction. The base has been painted as well.

This small size is hard to find and the color is wonderful!
