This is a 18th-19thC New England Wooden Bowl In Salmon Milk Paint. This is a deep early form bowl with that lighter in weight feel to it for the size. It measures 15 3/4" to 16 1/4' in diameter and 6" to 6 1/4" tall.

It is out of round from age and shrinkage. The surface has worn smooth to the rim and body of the bowl with the paint thin and worn in places. There is one tiny 1/4" age line from the rim. This early bowl was lathe turned with a 2" wide molded rim and a slightly raised incised footed base.

There are signs of use and age/chopping to the interior of the bowl. possibly this bowl might have been used in bread making or something similar where a deeper bowl might be needed.

The milk paint color is wonderful as well with a nice dull smooth surface.
