| This is a 19thC Antique New England Wooden Trencher Bowl in original Red Milk Paint over an earlier original gray milk paint. The red color is wonderful and is a cross between a bittersweet and a lipstick red. The bowl measures 22" long including the handle grips, 11" wide and 4 1/2" tall.
The paint has a nice dull dry surface to it, and the interior has lots of signs of use and wear/chopping. Found in Vermont. No cracks or age splits. The bottom was never painted red and the earlier gray paint stands out as well as the signature that appears to be ARMY?.
The bowl has lots of wear and patina and nice "grunge" to the top of the handle grips from years of being picked up there. The color is just dynamite.
