This is a C1870-80 Handstitched Pennsylvania Log Cabin Quilt that measures 34" x 30" and is all original with no repairs or restorations. The quilt is in beautiful bright excellent condition all completely hand stitched and made of all naturally dyed cotton calicoes. Of Pennsylvania origin, all the logs are very narrow measuring about 3/8" wide.

The natural dye madder print cotton calico variation and selection are wonderful. The backing is a brown cotton with several small/tiny holes and no tears (and not quilted as most log cabin quilts), and the binding is the same as the backing. The fireplace is a red and white printed check gingham. Included also is the hard to find yellow cheddar color fabric (some color instability to the cheddar color due to the natural dyes used) profusely used.

There is one hole to the log cabin side (the top side only) the size of a dime in one corner.I purchased this quilt in Pennsylvania many many years ago. This one has always been one of my favorites and is in beautiful bright condition.
