This is a 19thC New England Pantry Box in Mustard Over Blue Paint dating to the mid 1800's, and measures 7 3/4" diameter and 3 1/2" tall. It is old and authentic with penny nail construction and good natural wear and patina to the milk paint.

The dry mustard milk paint has a nice dull sheen to it, and you can see that the paint is over an earlier blue milk paint. This sturdy box has good medium stock construction except for an 8" horizontal split to the lid band that has not been touched. Old penny nail construction hold the base lap. The mustard paint is a neutral color in the mustard paint family. Some paint is missing to the side near the base lap from age.

There are two "chews" (holes) to the box interior base. No age splits to the base or lid. The blue milk paint underneath the mustard is quite nice.
