This is a C1870-80 (or prior) Handsewn Blue Calico Dress in a nice small child size and in worn condition like I prefer to find them. This indigo dyed blue calico dress is all completely hand sewn, it is trimmed with crocheted lace, fastens with six china buttons that match and another white china button at the neck, has princess seaming that goes down the front as well as the back and has twelve circular holes to the bodice or sleeves right at the white snowflake design.

It is a wonderful small size and measures 20" shoulder to hem, 25" around the waistline area, 6" hem ruffle length, and 9 1/2" sleeve length. There is a small right angle tear near the bottom ruffle in back. There is nice wear and signs of use to the dress. This dress would be a great addition to your blue calico dress collection.

I just love the look and soft feel to the deeply rich indigo blue color (the color is most like the first two pictures).
