This is a wonderful antique 19thC C1880 blue calico prairie bonnet with a long fall (the fall measuring about 8"). The bonnet is so beautifully made with treadle machine stitching in parallel rows to give the brim body, and completely handstitched back and fall with handstitched buttonholes and original shell buttons.

The back neck area has a pull string to gather it. The bonnet also has the original chin ties too, with no rips, stains, holes or damage. The full length is about 18". The indigo blue color is so wonderful and a nice strong blue better than it photographs. A beautiful bonnet.
