These primitive painted gameboards are so wonderful as the paint is the highlight of design. This one has a good mustard color and black milk painted surface, nice and dry with a dull sheen and brush strokes that I like to see with lots of appropriate wear and patina. And the paint is right and authentic.

This gameboard measures 14 1/2" x 14 3/4" x 7/8". It is thick, probably made of maple,  a hardwood, and has a very slight bow curve to the shape from natural aging. There is also good age and oxidation to the reverse side. The edges are painted with appropriate wear. This gameboard has been one of my favorites.
