This small antique late 19thC was meant as a rug for a cherished cat, and most likely used as such. What a great rug! I has been professionally mounted on a frame ready to hang, and measures 18 1/2" x 11". The design must have been a published pattern as I have only seen four of these. Cotton fabric was used to hook onto the burlap base. Satin covered buttons are the cats eyes. Please notice the wonderful subtle colors. Very folky especially if you are a cat fan.
