This is an early folky hooked rug dating from the late 19thC and was probably the center part of a larger rug. It has been professionally mounted on a frame ready for hanging and measures 15" x 19". Notice the subtle cotton color tones and the blue cotton homespun fabric on the cat's ears, tail and a spot on his back. At one time this rug rested on the floor and was used as a rug. There is a repair to one area of the black cloud outline around the cat and several more small areas that have a little bit of reinforced stitching. It was hand hooked onto burlap as the foundation fabric.
